Casting of the base slab is progressing at the station box. The base slab is completed at Entrance C, and excavation of the adjacent subway has started. Initial drive of the TBM is presumably completed.

Marina South Cast

Excavation works for the station are nearing completion and falsework is visible at the center zone for the subsequent casting of the concourse level, while rebar installation for the cut and cover tunnel base slab is being done. Launching of the TBM is hindered most likely by the surface ground improvement works, making this the last project to commence any bored tunnel works.

Excavation works are in full swing at the station box, with varying progress between the concourse and plantroom level (B2/B3). Excavation of LS3 is still in progress, and LS4 is being handed back to Taisei for the upper tunnel slab casting works.

A minor realignment of the Neil Road intersection took place earlier this month for the final few d-wall panel construction. RC works presumably for the concourse slab is being done at the north wall.

Outram Park Excavation

Excavation and casting works are progressing at the station box.

Havelock Excavation

Bulk excavation works for the Havelock station have finally started and should continue till the second half of 2017 for the bottom up construction of the station. Tunnelling works for the rectangular box jacking machine completed in mid November, and dismantling of the machine is in progress.

Great World Cast (II)

Preparations for the heavy lifting works for the lowering of the project's first Herrenknecht TBM is underway now with the arrival of the 1200t Demag mobile crane. Lowering of the TBM will be completed by Christmas and tunnelling works for the Woodlands bound drive to Orchard station should commence around the later part of 1Q17. Excavation works for the station have reached the first basement (roof) level and casting works are underway.

Piling at Napier (VII)

The final stage of piling works are scheduled to complete by the end of the year. The Herrenknecht TBM has remarkably driven the 750m long mixed-ground tunnel within just 3 months from the transition to its main drive, averaging close to 6 rings a day with interventions. The TBM is slated to reach the T218 boundary by the end of the week. Excavation works at the south side of the station box are in progress.

Stevens Diverts (III)

The next phase of traffic diversion at the station will be implemented along the southbound carriageway by the end of the month for the next phase of the diaphragm wall construction. The diaphragm wall works for entrance C/D and the escalator shaft have completed and started respectively.

Facility Building Backfill

Superstructures for the escape shafts are coming up as the TBM main drives are underway. TBM 1 and 2 are now beneath the Seletar Expressway bounded for the RTS Facility Building,  The first breakthrough of TBM 3 and 4 are expected by the next quarter.

Mandai Depot - Trackwork Begins

Commencement of the line's largest system-wide contract, led by CTCI for the design, supply, construction, testing and commissioning of trackwork and third rail system, took place this quarter with the staging ground prepared at the Mandai Depot. This is the second back-to-back trackwork project awarded to the Taiwanese contractor, with a smooth transition of resources expected from the recently completed Downtown Line 3.

Woodlands South Excavation (III)

All diaphragm wall works have been completed for the project. The final section of roof slab will be constructed at the station before joining the existing bulk excavation works at the north end.

Casting work continues at the Woodlands North site. All ground improvement works have been cleared at the north crossover tunnel site and casting works are commencing there. To the south, casting works for the south crossover tunnel roof and walls are nearly completed. The underplatform level of the station box has been completed.

Gardens By The Bay - TBM Assembly

The Hitachi Zosen EPBM was lowered down the launch shaft in August and assembly works are underway beneath the road deck. Excavation works are mostly completed along the station box, and RC works have commenced for the base slab at the southern end.

Maxwell D-walls (VII)

The extensive Diaphragm wall and Barrett pile works, which have been ongoing for over 2 years, is entering its final quarter and will be completed by year end at the Maxwell station. Meanwhile, excavation works at Entrance A are progressing to the concourse level beneath the completed roof slab at the southern zone.

Upper Thomson - TBM 3 Assembly

The third TBM for the T212 project was lowered down the Upper Thomson Launch Shaft today following shipment delays. This is the 34th TBM to be lowered for the entire Thomson Line project (C1-C4), and also the last single-drive TBM to be launched. The JTSC Slurry TBM will undergo assembly works within the launch shaft and commence excavation on the 1.36km Woodlands Bound tunnel from the ULS towards Caldecott station by year end.

Collaborating with the tunnel team, the lowering process was captured over a span of 30 hours.

Completion of the last zone of roof slab took place concurrent with the demobilization of the D-wall grabs and ancillary silo & slurry equipment in August. Bulk excavation works are now underway at the Outram Park station.

Orchard Cast (II)

D-walling works for the project have been fully completed at the cut and cover tunnel ahead of schedule and excavation works have commenced there. Basement casting of the concourse slab is taking place at the station box. A major traffic realignment is being prepared at the Orchard/Paterson intersection for the underpass works.

Upper Thomson - Canal Diversion

The canal running parallel to the station has been diverted and demolishment of the canal is taking place along the diverted stretch of the northbound carriageway. The 3rd traffic diversion will be fully implemented upon the completion of bored pile works at the center of the station box, following which the demolishment and backfilling of the remaining stretch of canal, together with the crucial diaphragm wall works would take place.

A heavy-duty crane is currently being assembled at the Upper Thomson Launch Shaft, awaiting the arrival and subsequent lowering of TBM 3 next Friday. TBM 1 has completed its initial drive and is transitioning to its main drive. TBM 2 is on its initial drive to Caldecott.

Bright Hill - POB launch

The 2 replacement POBs for the project were launched at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 and Upper Thomson Road in August and September respectively. The new bridges are simply spanned with staircases re-positioned to avoid the tunnel alignments leading up to the Bright Hill station. TBM 2 is progressing on its initial drive to Upper Thomson and the other 3 TBMs are being assembled up in the launch shafts. 

Another realignment of Sin Ming Avenue took place earlier this quarter to facilitate the final stretch of secant bored pile works south of the station box. Excavation and basement RC works have commenced at entrance B.

Casting of the concourse slab at the Mayflower station started in the previous quarter and and is largely completed at the subways and entrances. Excavation works are at the mezzanine level now.

Lentor Excavation (III)

The remaining diaphragm wall panels have been completed at the Lentor station and excavation for the basement roof slab for the second stage of zone 2, and zone 3 are in progress and will be cast by the 4th quarter. Bulk excavation works are progressing at zone 1.

TBM 1 has completed conversion to its main drive and is now under the intersection of Avenue 9. TBM 2 was just launched last month and is on it's initial drive to 5XO.

Tagore Cast (III)

TBM C was relaunched in July. The removal of the temporary rings and reaction frame at the lauch shaft last month completes the TBM's conversion to its main drive. TBM B is now halfway through its tunnel drive to Springleaf and under the Seletar Expressway. The concourse slab at Tagore has been cast.
